Configuring Mercury door forced open shunting on doors

2026-04-15Last updated

When Mercury door forced open shunting is enabled, the DoorForceOpenShunt timer must be set on each door in Config Tool to define how long Door forced open events are ignored.

Before you begin

Ensure the following:
  • The Inhibit 'Door forced' open event setting is enabled on the Mercury controller setting page of the Synergis™ Appliance Portal.
  • The Mercury controllers meet the following minimum version requirements:
    • EP controllers require firmware version 1.29.x or later
    • LP controllers require firmware version 1.30.7 or later
    • MP controllers require firmware version 2.1.0 or later

What you should know

When the Mercury door forced open shunting feature is enabled, Synergis Softwire automatically creates the DoorForceOpenShunt door custom field in Security Center, which is used as a timer configured per door. When the timer value is above zero, the timer restarts every time the door closes.

If the Mercury door forced open shunting feature is enabled and then disabled, the DoorForceOpenShunt timer remains visible in Config Tool, but changing the value won't affect anything.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Area view task.
  2. Select the door you want to configure, and click the Custom fields tab.
  3. In the Mercury door mode section, enter a value in seconds for DoorForceOpenShunt.
    Note:
When the value is set to 0 or lower, the feature is disabled on the door. The default value is 0 and the maximum value is 65,536.
  4. Click Apply.
