About the radio wake-up events feature for ASSA ABLOY Wi-Fi locks
Wakeup events is a configurable feature on all ASSA ABLOY Wi-Fi locks that allows you to select the events that the locks must immediately report to the controller through Wi-Fi radio.
How it works
By default, the Door forced open and Door open too long events wake up the lock's Wi-Fi radio to report these events when they occur. Use the Wakeup events option on each individual lock, to select the events that wake up the Wi-Fi radio. Events that aren’t selected to wake up the Wi-Fi radio are reported on the next Wi-Fi radio wakeup.
How to help minimize battery usage on Wi-Fi locks
In some installations, locks can have a short battery life because the locks are generating many Door held open events that wake up the Wi-Fi radio. Their battery life can be extended if it’s acceptable to report Door held open events on the next scheduled or unscheduled radio wakeup. To prolong the battery life, set the Wakeup events option for these locks to Door forced open only. The Door forced open events wake up the Wi-Fi radio and the Door held open events are reported on the next Wi-Fi radio wakeup.
