Changing the PIN entry timeout for doors

When long PINs are being used, you can change the PIN entry timeout to give cardholders more time to enter their PINs.

What you should know

The default timeout is 5 seconds.

1. Connect to Security Center with Config Tool.
2. In the Area view task, select the door that requires a longer PIN entry timeout.
3. Click the Hardware tab.
4. Beside the Card and PIN reader assigned to the door, click Reader settings ().
5. In the Reader settings dialog box, enable Use card and PIN, if it is not already enabled.
6. Set the Access timeout, and then click Save > OK .
7. If the desired setting is Card or PIN, do the following:
   1. Click Reader settings (), and disable Use card and PIN.
   2. Click Save.
8. Click Apply.
