Configuring a SharpV camera to control a vehicle access barrier

To use a SharpV camera to control a vehicle access barrier, the barrier must be configured as a door in Security Center.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Area view task.
  2. Click Add an entity (), and select Door.
    The Creating a door wizard opens.
  3. On the Basic information page, configure the following:
    Entity name
    Enter a name for the vehicle access barrier.
    Entity description
    (Optional) Enter a description for the vehicle access barrier.
    Location
    Select the area to which you want to add the vehicle access barrier.
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the Door information page, configure the following:
    Door type
    Leave at Normal.
    Alpha door side and Omega door side
    Assign names to the barrier sides. For example, In and Out, or Entrance and Exit.
    Access control unit
    Select the Synergis Cloud Link unit.
    Interface module
    Select the SharpV camera.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Review the Summary page, and click Create > Close.
    The barrier is displayed in the entity tree.
  8. Click the barrier's Properties tab, and then configure the general access control behavior of the barrier.

  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click the barrier's Hardware tab and describe the wiring between the access control unit and the barrier.
    The SharpV camera's reader, inputs, and outputs should be used for the reader, request to exit, door lock and door sensor mapping. For more information, see Mapping door entities to physical door wiring.
  11. Create cardholders and add their license plates as credentials.

  12. Selecting who can has access to the barrier.
